Oriental, small town, Lots of rain!

I sat out the day in Oriental, tropical storm Beryl was heading towards me. About 9 AM it started to rain and before the sun came out at 4PM we had 5″ as measured in a milk bottle on my deck. Not very scientific but it felt like much more. The harbor now went over the street into the pond next to The Bean Coffee House. But the sun did come out about 4PM and there was a bit of wind, but not bad and from the north now. I left Oriental and headed south again, next stop Swansburo. The wind was again in my face (from the south) and by the time I got to Swansboro it was blowing steady 22 knts with gusts to 30. I was going to anchor here but with the wind I decided to go to Caspers. I did see others try to anchor, give up and find other places for the night. Next was Wrightsville Beach, same thing, 30 knt gusts, and again I couldn’t anchor. I was feeling kind of beat and wanted to stay over another night in Wrightsville Beach but they had a fishing tournament the next day so I had to move on. I left Wrightsville Beach early (6:30) and got to Southport about noon. I took the rest of the day as the day I couldn’t get in Wrightsville Beach. I slept from about 1PM to 7PM ate dinner, and went back to bed, slept till 5AM. I left there at 6:30 again. I am now in Dock Holidays after trying to get into Cricket Cove. I ran aground at the entrance to Cricket Cove but was able to get myself off. The grounding was due to the Full moon low tide today, they say there is usually 7-10′ at low tide. Well tomorrow I will be at Osprey and will stay there for a while. Tomorrow I brave The Rock Pile for the third time, I’ll wait for the tide to be down a bit so I can see the rocks.
